Mediterranean Apartment

Project description

In 2017 we worked on a proposal for the refurbishment of a penthouse flat and rooftop terrace in Salerno, Italy, not far from the Amalfi coast area.

The design was conceived with a Mediterranean approach and articulated in a contemporary language influenced by the colourful tradition of southern Italian ceramics and the modern architectural language of Gio Ponti.

The renovation of the existing apartment rooms is conceived to create a new spatial flow connecting the Piano Nobile to the rooftop terrace, which becomes an open Belvedere and a living space. The exterior spaces become in this sense as important as the interior ones.
